As Halloween draws near herbal storyteller, Amanda Edmiston, leads us into a world where history, fact and fairy-tale align in this evening session for a grown-up audience.
Inspired by the George Marshall Medical Museum's collection and connecting to her research into the stories and medical use of the plants pictured in Elizabeth Blackwell's A Curious Herbal (the first herbal to be published by a woman in 1737), Amanda takes us on a journey to explore the traditional uses of some of the more dangerous plants in the materia medica and shares some of the strange stories behind them.
The George Marshall Medical Museum is part of a Registered Charity, and in order to support Amanda in her practice, there is a suggested donation of £4/household. With cost in mind, we wish to be as accessible as possible within our capabilities. As such, please consider paying what you can afford, or come for free if you cannot afford a donation.
