Masking Crime: Free evening talk with Bob Backenforth and Guests

  • George Marshall Medical Museum Charles Hastings Way Worcester (map)

At George Marshall Medical Museum.

Join Worcester's Bob Backenforth and our phrenology expert Louise Robinson for a free evening talk about crime, punishment and the 18th century pseudoscience of phrenology. Come on a journey of discovery, as Bob shares his ideas about the identification of our infamous collection of death masks and Louise reveals how and why the death masks were made.

The talk will take place in our lecture theatre from 7pm, and for early birds, the Museum will be open from 9am to 7pm on the day, completely free.

For the evening event, there is free car parking at the Charles Hastings Education Centre on the site of Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WR5 1DD), where there is also a bus service to Worcester City Centre. Once on the hospital site, follow signs for the Charles Hastings Education Centre and the Medical Museum. The Museum is inside the Education Centre and you will receive a warm welcome on arrival.
