Tom Ball, an English and Creative Writing student at the University of Birmingham, has developed a new kind of tour of The Infirmary museum and the Charles Hastings building, featuring original poetry inspired by the historic building and the museum collections.
“A lot of my poetry is inspired by the tremendous talent of the Decadent writers of the 1890s (Oscar Wilde, John Gray, Arthur Symons) and also from the Gothic period (Mary Shelley, Edgar Allen Poe, Jane Austen).”
