GEORGE MARSHALL MEDICAL MUSEUM open monday to friday, 9am-5pm
From Monday 19 July, unless exempt, all visitors to George Marshall Medical Museum will be required to wear a mask, we will ask you to scan the QR code for Test and Trace (or fill in a form), and we will still have a strict limit on visitors (max ten at any one time). We are a small museum and want all of our volunteers, staff and visitors to feel safe in our space and enjoy their visit. Please continue to keep your distance, and have a great visit while also helping to protect health services for those who need them.

SatNav postcode WR5 1DD will ONLY take you to the correct main road. As soon as you are on the Newtown Road, you must follow signs for the hospital, and once on the hospital complex, follow signs for the Charles Hastings Education Centre and Medical Museum. There is a SatNav error for the exact postcode, and it will try to take you along Malvern View, which is closed access to residents of this street only.
This is what we look like from the outside…
by bike
There are cycle stands in the garden of the Charles Hastings Education Centre. To find the stands, cycle around to the back of the Charles Hastings Education Centre, turn left into the first small car parking area and dismount at the pavement running around the back of the building. The cycle stands are just to the left of the grassed area. To enter the building, you will then need to walk around to the front entrance. Please note, the Charles Hastings Education Centre accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any bicycles.
Click here to be taken to Worcestershire County Council's webpage for cycle routes. Find us in grid E5 of the Worcester Walking and Cycling Map (just where the bicycle logo is).
by bus
The 38 and X38 bus services run between the city centre and the hospital site. Bus details change regularly so please check bus timetables for current information.
by train
The nearest stations are Worcester Foregate Street and Worcester Shrub Hill. It is possible to catch a bus to the hospital site from nearby either of these stations, and there is a taxi rank outside both.
West Midlands Railway offers a frequent and fast service from major cities, including Wolverhampton, Hereford and Birmingham to Worcester Foregate Station and Worcester Shrub Hill. Visit www.westmidlandsrailway.co.uk/ to book tickets.
By coach
We can only guarantee space for a coach if you have booked at least one week before your arrival. Contact the Curator on 01905 760738 or louise.price10@nhs.net.
If you are coming by coach, with a booked school group or community visit, your coach driver must follow the instructions as above and take due notice of the SatNav error. If you have booked your group, we will reserve the space at the front of the building for you, and the coach must then turn around in order to exit. This is a tight space, but has been done with very large coaches. A pre-visit is suggested so the coach driver is happy with the space.
by car
All visitors to the museum can access free parking onsite in the Charles Hastings Education Centre. If you are part of a group visit or a smaller party, the Curator is happy to arrange this for you, Please advise the Curator if a disabled parking bay is required. The centre can be found between junctions 6 and 7 of the M5 motorway. Please be aware, the Charles Hastings Education Centre is a hub of activity every day. As such, parking is on a first-come first-served basis, and it recommended that larger groups consider car-sharing. If full, there is alternative parking at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
