Vitae-ore, Ferruginous Blaud pills, Collosol Manganese

Vitae-Ore and Ferruginous Blaud pills were common treatments for anaemia in the early 20th century. Rich in iron, these remedies aimed to alleviate the debilitating symptoms of anaemia, such as breathing difficulties, pain, and fatigue. Although these treatments were marketed with additional health benefits, their primary value lay in their iron content, which was crucial for managing anaemia.

Collosol Manganese capsules were used to treat urticaria, a skin condition characterised by red, raised bumps. According to a 1917 case reported in the British Medical Journal, Collosol Manganese was also effective in treating severe skin infections. In one instance, large facial boils were cured within three weeks by injecting Collosol Manganese into the buttocks, demonstrating its potent medicinal properties.
