We're working with Researcher Emily Beynon on a project to research those artefacts in our collection relating to disability and invisible illness.

From July 2024 we will open a new public display and webpages so that new and existing audiences can find out about these currently hidden stories in-person and online.

We’d like to know about you and your lived experience to make our displays great and relevant for you. If you consider yourself to have a disability or invisible illness, please complete the following online form.

The project is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Do you consider yourself to have a disability or invisible illness?

The definition of a disabled person is quite broad and can include people with a physical or sensory impairment, as well as 'unseen' impairments such as dyslexia, mental health difficulties and epilepsy. Please tell us about your disability or condition.

How does your disability or condition affect your daily life?

We'd like to find out whether you feel your condition or disability has a positive or negative impact on your life. We would like to find out about your lived experience.

How can we make our display better?

What objects or interpretation would you like to see? We would like to include some snapshots of the lives of those working in the Trust, if possible, both online and in our physical display, planned for July 2024.
